Training for our new program for teen volunteers: A+ Readers
Attention all High School students that need A+ tutoring/mentoring hours that love books and reading! The St. Joseph Public Library is initiating a new volunteering program. We will pair teens with young readers who want to practice their reading skills over the summer at the East Hills Library. Some volunteer times will be held at the Bartlett Center. Teens must be incoming 9th through 12th grade students. To apply to be an A+ Reader mentor, please visit our website or any of our four locations to obtain an application. The volunteer schedule will be every Thursday from June 6th to August 1st from 2-4 p.m. and you can choose which weeks work best for your schedule. The mandatory training will take place on May 30th from 2-3 p.m. Teens can get anywhere from 2 to 16 volunteer hours during this program! *The library will be closed on July 4th, so there will be no volunteer hours available on this day.
