Program Description
Have fun on Saturday morning with your child while learning new parenting information and gaining new skills to fill your parenting toolbox! Over a series of five sessions, we'll have professionals from the St. Joseph community who will share activities, information, and offerings available to children and families. Mark your calendar to attend all five Saturday sessions: 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, and 12/3. Come for one, two, or all! This program is part of our Family Place Library initiative, and is intended for families with children under the age of five.
November 12 will feature Lauren Kelly a certified Parent Educator with St. Joseph School District's Parents as Teachers program. She will be speaking about the importance of early literacy.
She has been working with families here in St. Joseph for more than six years. The part she likes most about her job is observing how caregivers from diverse backgrounds bring strengths to their child's learning. Shei is a mom of two amazing daughters and a puppy (who is not quite so amazing yet). In her spare time she coaches her daughter's softball team and leads her Girl Scout Troop. She is working hard to learn ASL and become quadrilingual.
