Program Description

**PRIVATE PROGRAM FOR PICKETT ELEMENTARY STUDENTS**

Join us as we read "The Gingerbread Man" By Saviour Pirotta, then brainstorm ideas for helping the gingerbread man with a STEAM Challenge!

Oh no! The Gingerbread Man has outrun many creatures, but now he is on a riverbank and can run no more. Don't let the sly fox trick him and eat him up! Instead you can help the Gingerbread Man by building him a raft using just straws and pipe cleaners. When you are done building, tape a quarter to your paper gingerbread man and test out your raft in a bucket or your sink.

This program is hosted virtually, but supplies will be provided for all participants prior to the event. Registered participants will need to pick up activity kits at Pickett Elementary on Wednesday, August 12th between 5:00PM and 6:00PM.

Only one registration per household is required. This program is limited to a maximum of 25 households. Each kit includes pipe cleaners, straws, and other materials from which to create and test your raft. Gingerbread man included.
