Program Description

Program Description

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we reflect on the history that has shaped our nation. In publication since 1885, Good Housekeeping magazine is a ubiquitous part of Americana. In this presentation, Dr. Paula Hayward looks back at the 1907 and 1908 Good Housekeeping issues as a form of social media outlining the cultural roles for women in the Edwardian era such as advocates for national health, keepers of “the domestic treasury,” and as commentators on higher education for women.

Light beverages and snacks will be served.
