Program Description

The Book Buddies Pony Express Therapy Dogs, in partnership with the East Hills Library, are offering children a way to improve their reading skills in a unique and fun environment. This program utilizes therapy dogs as the listeners for children of all ages and reading levels.  Drop in anytime during this 2 hour session.

In addition to the Therapy Dogs, we will have a special guest from the local Census Bureau who will read a short book and then help parents fill out Census forms while the kids get to read to the therapy dogs. Did you know the least counted demographic during the census is those ages 0-5? It is important that EVERYONE get counted, "because, after all, a person's a person, no matter how small" (quote by Dr. Seuss from Horton Hears a Who). It matters because Census numbers affect funding for many programs for the next 10 years!
